Yep, we all don't have enough RAM around here.happy dude wrote:Edit: just noticed smoething - mdogg should get more RAM!
I don't often use Safari (as seen in one of my desktops I don't even have it in the Dock) but I can still tell you what kind of memory it uses:jabster wrote:Actually, question for mdogg, what kind of memory usage does safari get on your Mac's, ive seen some pretty impressive leaks.
While idling on the homepage (http://www.apple.com/startpage/): 25.4MB
While loading BetaArchive: 26.8MB
While watching YouTube videos: 52.1MB
I don't know what else I should test but if you have any requests I could try them out and see how it goes.

Mdogg, thank's for those memory usage stat's, I've alway's been interested in Safari's memory usage. It's a great browser, but it'll eat up whatever memory you throw at it, when I had it running on my Pc, it used to eat up over 100mb of ram with 3 or 4 tabs open. From what I gather, this problem is the same on Mac's:

Some people have posted some pretty amazing memory usage in that thread, I bet if you opened a massive amount of tab's you would see the same sort of thing.
