Halo: Combat Evolved Pre Gold

Post by TheWahbinator »

Anybody interested in this? It's the pre-release of the PC version of the game. From the NFO:
4/5 singleplayer levels are totally playable in this rls..
also 3 levels of working Multiplayer ..
since game is revolved around mp i was sure peeps would
respect this rls better than if i had released the other beta which
has all maps but no multiplayer..

I compared the files in each of them. Halo.exe has different sizes among both of them, but the files in the FilesCab folder are the same. Should I upload?

Thanks for Halo, I tried it and it worked fine. Got stuck playing it... it may be old, but damn it's good . And for those of you wondering, this is the beta 1.5 of Halo.

All i did was mount it with Daemon-Tools and run it. I don't have any other emulation-software installed either. I had to turn back the date to prior 2004 to make it start, but no error messages.

Does anyone know if this version is different than the one on the BA server? If so, does anyone have any updated links to it? I'd love to play around with it.

There's actually 3 Halo: CE pre-retail builds. 1, 1.5, and 2 it says the build on the menu. I had all of them at one time, but not anymore I wish I still had them.

Would you happen to know any significant changes between the builds? Or are they mostly bug fixes?
Since January 2005, I've been in the Operating Systems Prototype Community. I've enjoyed learning more these past four years about the development of the Windows and Macintosh operating systems, as well as learning of new user-based projects that optimize system performance.

Well, there was only like a map or two that you could play in 1.0, in 1.5 there were slight engine/model/texture upgrades, and 2.0 was basically the retail engine and models but the maps in it were not as well put together.
