yes it's real
but I remember something like it's no the Watts that hurt but the amps... like the watts are teh amount but the amps are the speed.
so that I bet is high watts and low amps...
kind alike a massive boulder getting rammed into you at 2 inches an hour... it's a lot of raw strength and power there, but it's so slow...

so it's safe to do

as for the heat, I doubt he gets very hot... electricity is hot, but doesn't spread a lot of heat...

though I could be wrong

It takes less than 20mA across the heart to kill you. Just think, you have (in the UK) 13000mA (13A) sockets in the home!

meh I don't worry
you have to be an idiot to be electrocuted... on accident
I wipe down the powerplugs after i accidentally painted over them with a wet towel.. it's fine... so long as your not an idiot and try to lean BOTH of the holes really deep in at the same time...
I have little portable tesla coil thing.. it's really cool and quite funny.
I locked a door and then turn the coil on and put it to the door knob... XD

The thing is, electricity goes through the route with the least resistance, so if you touch even a 1MA (ok, that will probably set you on fire, but you get the idea ) source, it'll won't go through the heart and will probably just leave a scar.

It's enough to touch one, if you're also touching the floor (as the Earth serves as a giant capacitor). That's why I wear rubber shoes while messing with electricity.
